Cliffords Cottage

Client: The Meadows Partnership

Date: Summer 2013

A complete strip out of the building was required including, demolition and reconstruction of the chimney stack, reconstruction and re-instatement of internal walls and some sections of external walls, construction of a new roof including eyebrow dormers and thatch covering. New services, re-plastering in lime render, installation of new bespoke windows and decoration.

The property is a Grade II Listed Building. In November 2012 the building suffered extensive fire damage, the whole of the thatched roof and first floor being destroyed. Prior to the fire the building was let to a tenant for use as a restaurant. Due consideration during the reinstatement works had to be given to ensure the requirements of the Local Authority were met, whilst at the same time ensuring that the Client, Surveyors and tenant of the building were satisfied with the end result.
